Best alternative of Netflix : Stremio

You might have already read the previous blog where I have explained how we can download the crack version of Netflix. In this blog, I have brought the better version of Netflix or you can say the better version of all kinds of video platforms for free. On this platform, you can easily download and watch all kinds of Netflix shows as well as Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. You can say it includes all the movies, tv-series of all kinds of genres.

This Platform is named Stremio. It is an application for both android and desktop devices. It is also available on Apple devices but unfortunately, it does not run properly. I have been using this platform for watching all kinds of movies that are available on Netflix and Disney+. Depending upon your country it provides all the features for downloading videos as well as subtitles. 

The way it works or provides videos on the internet is that it uses torrent links and directly plays in its video player. You can log in by creating an account and you can easily create a watchlist and you can save your favorite series or movies in its favorite section. The only disadvantage for people in foreign is that they cannot use this platform if your country has banned them from using torrents. For them to watch movies in Stremio, they will have to use a premium VPN.

The advantages of using Stremio is mentioned below:

1. You don't need to subscribe to Premium on any video platform.
2. You can create a watchlist for your favorite movies or series.
3. You can easily download your movies or series.
4. Videos are maintained according to genres or release date.
5. You can continue watching the movies where you left them.
6. You can watch the video again and again once it is buffered.
7. It provides links for all kinds of resolution.
8. You can leave this platform to run in the background to get buffered.
9. It gets auto-updated.
10. You can log in from the same account on your desktop and mobile device to synchronize the watched videos.

Experience in using this app

Using the Stremio app is simple enough. It’s well, streamlined. You can get content from other sources, but you watch it all within the Stremio app. The main page displays new content in any channels you’ve subscribed to. For this review, I picked some pretty standard channels from the likes of Netflix and the NFL. If YouTube channels are more your thing, you can scroll through a list of top channels from the likes of Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran.

The home page also displays a list of top movies and TV shows, plus the top movies and TV shows based on rating. Statements like that probably allow Stremio to stay on the right side of the law. It does not allow them to stay on the right side of my Windows Firewall, though.

Adding movies, shows, or channels to your library is easy, assuming there’s an available stream. There won’t always be one. Stremio comes with official add-ons that are part of the basic download. YouTube and WatchHub are part of the official package.

Then there are “community” downloads, including Pirate Bay and similar apps. According to Stremio’s FAQ page, “We don't control community add-ons, some of them provide torrent-based sources therefore, before using them you should make sure that this is legal in your country.” Let’s say you want to watch Aquaman but don’t want to visit your local movie theater to do so.

You can click on Aquaman in the Stremio app, but in my case, I got a notification that there were no streams available. Below it was an invitation to “view all available add-ons.” In other words, none of the add-ons I had installed offered this title, but I could certainly view other options to see if they had it. I also took a quick look at the terms and conditions before installing Stremio.

There’s additional information about the community add-ons there, including this: “The Provider is not liable for hosting, storing, developing, maintaining or monitoring the content available for the Users through the Community Add-ons.” When I was installing Stremio, I got the dreaded “Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this app” pop-up. I had to bypass it, because duty waits for no firewall.

It also re-stresses its point that such apps are made by “independent developers.”
